         Have you ever wanted to stay in an authentic lighthouse?  The McKay Island Lighthouse was built in 1907 and today is a modernized all season self catering lighthouse. A tranquil retreat offering boating, fishing, swimming, walking trails and perfect for a weekend getaway or family vacation.

Step Back in History - Be a Lighthouse Keeper

         Sleep where the lighthouse keeper slept in the 1907 McKay Island Lighthouse. Watch the vessels go by. Be amazed by the changing character of the water and sky. Historical tour upon arrival includes climbing to the widow walk for a panoramic view of Lake Huron's North Channel. View the original journals and photographs of the five "Keepers of the Light". Explore the two islands and observe the flora and fauna. Visit the historical Town of Bruce Mines and the Simpson Mine Shaft.
