The Simpson Mine Shaft is only one of the numerous local shafts known collectively as the
"Bruce Mines". The town of this name was the first successful copper
mining town in Canada.
Bruce Mines
Museum - The museum and archives, also known as the "church on the rock",
was a Presbyterian Church built in 1894, and was later used as a post office and a school.
The museum was established in 1960 and today houses over 7000 artifacts!
The Bruce
Mines Library - The Bruce Mines and Plummer Additional Union Public Library is one of
the highlights of Bruce Mines, offering wonderful programs and extra activities year
round, especially in the summer. In addition, it is home to three public access
computer terminals with Internet capabilities, and over 7600 books.
