Geocaching
Geocaching is a fun filled treasure hunt using a GPS and can be done alone, with friends or family.
Geocache French & McKay Islands while enjoying your stay on the islands. Explore the islands, hike our trails, enjoy the beauty, listen to nature. The islands are steeped in folk lore and history, each cache will share a story. You can participate using your GPS or your treasure hunt can be done by landmarks as well. Visit the Bruce Bay Cottages Office for a print out of the geocaches located on the islands along Island Map showing our trails. To print out a map of the Islands and trails before arriving . The caches located on the islands are for guests only.
Medicine Wheel Cache – stop and take time to meditate at this wheel N 46 17.162 W083 47.431 elevation 171 meters
Captain Jack Cache – walk the trail & look for his treasure N 46 17.230 W 083 47.141 elevation 155 meters
Kissing Rocks – 3 large boulders dropped by the glaciers N 46 16.948 W 083 47.079 elevation 152 meters
Coureur De Bois – location where the fur traders camped - this is a difficult climb and rocks and moss will be slippery, please take extra caution N46 16.946 W 083 47.230 elevation 181 meters
Little Red Fox – location is the home of the red foxes that roam our islands - co ordinates will be added later
The caches are work in progress and hopefully a few more will be added to the list in 2011.
Geocache Bruce Mines & Area
Many Geocaches are planted in Bruce Mines and area. Bruce Mines is a small Town steeped in history and located on the north shore of Lake Huron. The surrounding area with its country roads, small inland lakes and islands offers the perfect setting for a country drive and geocaching.

North Channel Geocache
Saturday Sept 29, 2012 the 1st annual North Channel Geocache will start at the Lighthouse Lounge at 9:00am. It will be a full day of geocaching and learning about the history of our area.
