Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.

Happy New Year and may 2012 be a great year for all. Bruce Mines has very little snow and Lake Huron is still crashing its waves against the bluffs at the lighthouse. This morning 2 ducks where happily swimming and floating beside a couple of big chunks of ice. Hope they get the message that it is time to head south. Bruce Bay on the other hand has a thin layer of ice.

We have started our 2012 projects and it appears this will be the year for the decks. Cottage # 8 has a new deck that is nearing completion and Cottage # 2 has a new deck being planned. The water filtration, ultra violet systems have been purchased and will be installed and ready for next season. The lighthouse lounge is scheduled to have this update in February.

A geocache event is planned for Sept 29th 2012 if all goes as planned. It will be a historical series of new caches in Bruce Mines & Plummer Additional with the Lighthouse Lounge hosting the social functions for this event.

Wishing you all health and happiness and hope to see many of our past patrons and friends in 2012.

The cottages are now officially closed  for the season. Renovations have started on Cottage #8 for the new deck and it is looking good. The leaves have all fallen off the trees and tamarack trees are a hugh of golden yellow.

The lighthouse is open and guests can still watch the freighters heading into Trap Rock and soon the November gales will be having fun with Lake Huron. The lighthouse lounge will be busy over the Christmas season with family and business gatherings so the fall decorations will be coming down and the winter Christmas theme will be started this weekend

You can tell it has been a busy summer as I have not had any time to keep the news updated. It has been a great summer for the guests and the weather has co operated which really helps.

Fall is in the air now and a few leaves have already started to turn crimson red. The Fall Fair is next weekend so come to Bruce Mines and enjoy some yummy french fries at the Chamber of Commerce booth and enjoy the Johnny Cash concert and cash on Saturday night. Do not forget about the Demolition Derby on Friday night at the arena.

Looking forward to a beautiful fall season

King Neptune has returned to the islands for his annual fishing adventure. He caught another 12 lb pike yesterday in the weed beds along MacKay Island. There is a little lost black kitty roaming the islands and manages to get a treat of pike each day.
